The article makes a really good point about 'feminists' too. Recently I've seen a lot of attention drawn to the fact that popular, well-known feminists are in fact very exclusive (i.e.: not fighting for trans rights, ignoring WOC, etc.). It's complete bs. Yeah, she was an adult entertainer, but that was her job and she consented to it, which makes it her fucking choice. This, this was not her choice, she was raped.

I belong to the X generation, but this sentence still irritates me. You don't hear critics on baby-boomers, you only hear them about the (so called) millennials and Xs. My sister belongs to the millennials and she is all but a social retarded or a narcissist.

It seems they are desperate to use any chance to attack feminism, no matter what... Any excuse seems legit. Also they take the chance to attack younger generations.

Why did they make an emphasis on the part the victim is a pornostar? Is it important? I don't think so. It looks like something...ahh...a lot of people will blaim her as usual ( something like "she's a pornostar, she was too vulgar, af course she was raped!)

I don't understand this point of view. The author think feminists should patrol streets to protect women? Why? It's meaningless. The main reason of rape are not short skirts or night time, the main reason of rape are rapists.

It's a woman and sex - two things Murica just can't handle.

Also, to the anti-feminist comments in the article - I had to agree with what was said to some extent. I think it goes along with "those" feminists - just like there are "those" Christians or "those" ____. The website doesn't seem to be a major news site so I thought that maybe it was just reporting on the story and the political side? Idk.... I read into things too much.

I will add, though, that I thought it was weird they didn't also focus on say, the big news channels and how a porn star would appear to "deserve it" to some - where's that part?

It is important to remember that this article came from a far right website. When I read the article the other day and went to the home page, there were tons of links to Matt Drudge, and other feminist bashing articles.

 

You do realise pronstars are people and don't automatically consent to everything?

Can you name any. I know that the moment a "feminist" says something to the gist of "trans/WOC/queer women don't count" I stop reading, but I've never stumbled across one either.

 

Janice Raymond, Sheila Jeffreys, or Germaine Greer. There are perhaps others. But we're dishonest to "no true Scotswoman" them. While they are feminist, they are also completely terrible trans-denialists who have done violence to us in real terms.

Yet none of them command much clout at all in modern intersectional feminism.

It's just frustrating that nobody cares to read about intersectional feminists.

It's also frustrating that when transfeminists try to point out that cisgender feminists support us (vastly), people still talk over us...
