The only fix to this law is a full repeal of it, and adding SOGI to the State Civil Rights Act.

I hate religious freedom especially bc it exist in my state. Can't we just ban religious freedom or rule it unconstitutional?

It will be interesting to see how they try to "fix" the bill, since the basis of it is discrimination...

Indeed, he has also explicitly stated on national television that placing a provision protecting LGBT people from discrimination is "not on my agenda".

It's always fun to see politicians wiggle and squirm out of the messes they themselves create, so it will be fun to see how he gets around this one! Maybe he'll open his dollar-store Agenda book and suddenly find an entry like "include LGBT folk in non-discrimination" that just happened to be found on a Post-it Note that had previously fallen out....

Dumbass. He was told before he signed it what the repercussions would be, and signed it anyway.

Now he wants to have his cake and eat it too. This isn't going to end well.

I''ll believe it when I see it. When asked on Sunday, eight times, if the bill would allow discrimination based on sexual preference, he could not give a yes or no answer. Not only that, he even had an elaborate signing ceremony, attended by anti-LGBT figures. I think his point was clear.

Thus, he admits to signing a bill he claims to have no knowledge of what it might do, which is pretty lame.

Pence needs to put his money where his mouth is, and repeal the bill.

If there's one thing I don't trust, it's an Indiana Republican.

This is probably the most damning evidence to date. What a low-life liar.

In other words, the money machine$ behind the Republican Party sat him down in a backroom and ordered him to fix the mess he created, now. Not a very bright guy this Mike Pence. Why did Indiana elect such an idiot?

Hang on, he says the bill doesn't allow discrimination so he's calling for a fix to prevent the bill from being used for discrimination.

If the bill doesn't allow discrimination already, why does it need fixing?

I had that same image! I'm not sure why Indiana is the way it is. As a Michigan native, I can say it's clearly the most conservative of any of the states that border the Great Lakes (only a fraction touches Lake Michigan, thankfully), and also very, very, very flat and from my experience, boring. Why they elected them is hard to say. Maybe the pollution from Gary has caused brain damage, or they've been drinking ethanol. My partner's ultra-religious sister lived there for a while, and it was like being in the Bible Belt when we'd visit.
