    I don't see how those charges will stick in court, unless they can prove intent.

    I think the intention was just to scare the kids, not to make the charge sticks. Although this is pretty extreme, since it last for a lifetime, that record, especially when they grow up.

    I definitely think the prosecutor or county attorney should have their arm broken.

    Oh these kind of charges frequently result in convictions.

    1 - They filmed themselves and put it on twitter.
    2 - All participants on film were under age, so it is automatically child pornography.

    That's really all they need to convict.

    Not saying this is right. Better handled by the parents in this case. And getting the video deleted from twitter.

    Beautiful. Gotta love crap done "on principle" or "to make an example", especially when there is no consideration for the lives destroyed in the process...

    That's America's "tough on crime" culture for you. Cases like this will do little to solve the problem of children being exploited, and will only cause unnecessary suffering for those minors. If I were on a jury for a case like this, I would engage in jury nullification (i.e., even if they are guilty of violating the letter of the law, I'd vote not guilty).

    BTW, America has, by far, the highest prison population in the world (both in terms of absolute numbers, and percentage).
