When I worked at a certain regional store (retail), every February, the edges of the monthly brochure would acknowledge Black History Month. This was fine... until you turned to the next-to-last page and saw, hair-straightening and skin-lightening products, with smiling African-Americans.

Nobody else, but me, seemed to catch this irony.

One must wonder how powerful this "black women, your features are not good enough" message is if even Beyonce is succumbing to it...

Cosmo is always a bunch of garbage. It's sad they can't see the beauty in different skin colors and features.

I heard about this earlier this week. Honestly, nothing will every top the Naya Rivera incident in terms of blatant magazine racism.

I hope that they read and roast Cosmopolitan magazine until the cows come home, and I hope people who read this article see how insidious whitewashing is.

Isn't this the same magazine that puts PoC women in black and white on their covers, while white women are fully colored?

This is coming from the Daily Mail. While I can't visit their website on principle, I'd just like to point out the irony of their choice to run this article.
