The snopes article states that while gay people are not exempt from emergency medical services, they can still be refused treatment under this law.

Funny story about this. I was at a meeting with 36 other students and 20 legislatures two weeks ago. It was a forum style event and this was the second question that was asked,"what does the RFRA restore and how will this affect minorities such as the lgbt community." What happened next was hilarious first a senator stood up and acted like none of us knew anything about how the government worked (the students there were an elite set of leaders from a program designed to model michigans govwment) he told us it was really the lgbt community discriminating against the Christians who "disagreed" with us. Another representative stood up an replied talking about how bad that ideology was then two republicans stood up and walked out...Really guys how old are we. Needless to say apparently the majority of leaders in the michigan house and senate are not good leaders basing their philosophies off of voter polls that a decade old and sidestepping the informed citizens.

 

I generally support religious freedom bills because I don't think it's anyone's business who you give service to if it's your company

But this is just too far.

Seriously though, only a monster could sleep well at night knowing they denied medical care to a person in need. Why the hell did they become doctors, then?

 

It's sad that this is even a possibility. If they really deny medical treatment to someone for being LGBT than as far as I'm concerned they are murderers. That is completely unethical and just wrong.

First, this is very very homophobic and is very inhumane. This is against human rights! And second, how can they know if the patient is gay?

 

I'm going to assume this title is misleading. It's not just selling you a cake you don't need, but letting someone die on purpose is murder. Also, it's completely against the ethics of the healthcare profession.

I'm pretty sure most religions would consider leaving someone to die on purpose a monstrous, inhuman sin.

 

There's only one code of ethics in the American healthcare "profession" and it doesn't matter if you're white, black, gay or a Sasquatch. As long as you've got the green they'll give you whatever you want. If you don't, they reserve the right to let you die or to drive you so deep into debt you'll want to die.
