    It's really fantastic to see some movement at the federal level over this. It still is something that will have to go through Congress, but the fact that it's even being talked about is great to see. I know certain states have addressed this, but I'd rather get this all done in one move as opposed to a patchwork movement.

    I like this progress, but I somewhat not like the tone of the news article. It is framing it into a "gay right" issue rather than a "transgender right" or "LGBT+ rights" or even "human right".

    Also, I am not sure if it is irony, but the words of the conversion therapist made me laugh bitterly:

    This is amazing! Especially seeing that they didn't just say "no gender discrimination in the White House" but actually put in an all-gender bathroom! You know some heads spun when that happened!

    Obama did good on this but what about all the people we are abandoning in the Middle East. We left the German self defense force to fight the ground battles for us when we can end terrorism at the press of a button. Launch nukes on their base or just send in 2 or3 marine battalions to mop up the problem. It's our war so we need to fight it.

    I'm really glad to see this. One of my mentors suggested I go to conversion therapy when I came out to her (thinking she'd be more supportive than my parents). I don't want to think about all the people who were forced into it.

    This. And are you seriously suggesting nuking foreign soil? There is literally no way that would ever end well, not one. Neither would sending battalions of infantry onto foreign soil. America is there fighting terrorism, but only in numbers that they have agreed upon with the governments of the countries they're helping, otherwise they'd feel threatened by the fact that the US would have enough infantry in the country to stage a coup.

    It's not just your war. America has done enough world policing.

    I wish there was a way it could be abolished for all people ... that would include adults.

    However, if someone wants to sell snake oil and there's someone willing to buy it, then I don't think there's much the government can do.
