The students coordinated wearing flannel shirts and wrote “anti-gay” on their hands, after the school’s Gay-Straight Alliance held a “Day of Silence.”

What is this world coming to? Where a non-violent protest can be responded to by violence and oppression with no real backlash? The homophobic instigators should be arrested.

    Now hold on!

The Nazis may be the fucking scum of the Earth, but they would never wear flannel shirts.

There's something really untrustworthy and creepy about young conservative people. Baffles my mind. Bunch of freaks.

I'd agree. And it's pretty much their parents/families that program them that way: through religious indoctrination starting at an early age, before they can fully reason. And outlets like Fox News and so many other right wing outlets, while keeping them isolated from other points of view, and socialized by like-minded bigots. Then, you have some that go farther, and send them to religious schools, or just keep them home, so as to try to raise them in glass bubbles...early on they intill a sense of 'Us Vs. Them'.

    Very sad.

While that may be true in some instances there are a growing number of young conservatives who now support gay marriage they just vote republican for other reasons. Let's not generalize them.

Huh, and once again, it's zany, Christian extremist groups like Focus on The Family that are trying to promote these reactions elsewhere, as well.

We need to stop these reactionary, far-right Christians, before we have our own bible-based version ISIS on our hands.

If that happened anywhere in my city, all of those kids would be bloody messes by the end of the day.

So, they're wearing flannel shirts to protest against gayness...
I thought one of the stereotypes about gay women is that they all wear flannel?

Yes of course they would vandalise a student's locker by sticking bible verses and simultaneously spitting out gay slurs while wearing a flanell, it's like hypocrisy and irony blended into one.

Thank goodness this didn't happen at my high school. There were no counter protests to students who participated in Day of Silence. It seemed like all students were very respectful and didn't mind it.

They brought out an actual noose. None deserves any less than expulsion and public shaming.
