    Christian group ‘investigating’ family and staff of 2016 candidates to expose gay sympathizers

    They really are paranoid about gays and sympathisers in their midst, it's all a bit Joe McCarthy.

    Pretty courageous of them...they might find some rather "interesting" facts about their nearest and dearest friends, like the percentage of those 100,000 pastors who are gay...:grin:

    And welcome to the Blood Sport of Politics. Which is pretty disgraceful to attack families and staff of presidential candidates. Such acts of cowardice can only be expected when these Religious Conservatives notice they are getting desperate. But what is even more disturbing, it's basically an attack on their own party. I doubt they would give a damn if a liberal supported the LGBT, but this could ruin the primaries for the Republicans. But, the article says anyone. So, I assume Democrats are also on the list.

    They find the democrats, run up some opposition ads against them. Might even sucker a few moderates/ independents to vote Republican. But this "investigation"... is a double-edged sword. Kill some of the Republicans in the primaries. The votes of the delegates shift to some right wing fascist. The scenario in my head will play out like the season 6 finale of the West Wing where one of the candidates loses his chance at nomination because of his wife's medical history.

    Is the Christian Right so desperate for a "So Far Right, Fire Breathing, Xenophobic, Homophobic, gun toting, Religious Fanatic Republican" that they would consider attacking their own party and bring ridicule and shame to the people who ARE NOT even involved in politics just to have that guy??? What if they have kids, nieces or nephews are are gay and struggling? Ruin their lives to get what these bastards want? Ruin a staff member's career and possibly his family? They don't care.

    Ok... I'm still pissed about the whole Pennsylvania Anti-Gay Day thing so I'm just ranting and possibly making no sense what so ever.

    I feel sorry for all the people trying to keep a low profile, or, you know, living their private lives privately, who are going to have to deal with all this bs... :icon_sad:

    Given that approximately 1 in 10 people are gay and that most peoples extended families consist of about 50 to 100 people. Every elected official has quite a few gay relations.
