Errr, what is this bollocks? They just make it up as they go along.

Glad they removed the ban, and I hope the appeal is rejected.

This is good news indeed. I am glad that someone said what needs to be said more often: ''The most important factor in ensuring a well-adjusted child is the quality of parenting," and that sexual orientation should not define as to who can raise a child.

I can't stand people who make comments like that guy did. To not realize that the reason there are higher statistics for mental illness, substance abuse, and suicide is not directly because of the person's sexuality but because of the social stigma against it is the epitome of blindness.

Arkansas voters definitely win my Stupid Award for the year. Yeah, let's restrict the pool of eligible adoptive parents further on the basis of a bogus criterium when the state still only has about 25% of the foster parents it needs.

It's only a matter of time before such idiotic legislation is ruled unconstitutional, as Florida has demonstrated here.

This article details the specious arguments of the state's lawyers. "Experts" is a total misnomer in this context. More like... Experts face off against bigots who cook data to bolster their outdated prejudices.

Why do you think they are at a higher risk of substance abuse and mental illness? Because people like Rekers, who are unfortunately all too prevalent in society, can't consider the fact that these groups have faced and still face insane amounts of prejudice. The solution is not to bar them from adopting, but rather, stop being a douche.

If only people realized that prejudice is still a problem and decided to stop being douches.

This is very good news and a step forward! I'm only afraid that this will continue to be a fight for a long time coming now. Hopefully the courts won't fall for the bigotry and ignorance and we will triumph over this in the end.

I have a coworker that has been raising a child for two years that is legally her girlfriends, but I would hate to see something happen to her girlfriend and she lose the baby as a result. The system all over this country needs to change!

I'm so happy to read this. This is a victory for children, let alone for gay rights.

As a Floridian, I cant tell you how happy this makes me. I do ALOT of volunteer work with in the foster care system, and I can tell you that this will help alot. This is kinda of the states way of flipping off the people who were behind amendment 2. And they deserve it.

  20. Thats good..

    I don't know...
I PERSONALLY wouldn't want to bring a child into my world.

I would feel bad to bring a child into a mom and dad world, with two dads.

But this is a free life, and I guess if an african american man can become president in a country that is used to white presidents
then everyone can do what he/she wishes to do.
And that maybe things can change...

    ._. except for Texas.

Here in Texas, 60% of people were probably against Obama because he was black.

If it helps children in foster homes.... well maybe I would.

But until things change, I don't think I could adopt a child.
It just wouldn't be fair to whoever the child is.

    Sorry. :/
I just had to say it. I haven't had the most accepting life.
