    Very true.

    It is sad, though, that in the US, the biggest driver of homophobia is Christianity; in other counties, it might be Islam, but it's sad how often religion is used as a force to judge, condemn, hurt and even kill.

    It's hard for me to understand why I don't see the more liberal Chistians in the US speaking up against this, to the level and loudnes the ones on the right are.

    People do speak up, It's just they tend to get overshadowed because all we do is focus on bigots like the the 'Hook up app pastor'.

    Some seem to speak up, I'd certainly agree...though they don't seem to make it much of a priority...I mean, I don't see any Christian groups that are as well organized or nearly as well funded as the anti-gay ones. It seems like some individual Christians do lend 'support', just not in a very organized fashion, like the various evangelical groups do. It would be nice to see Christians come together in opposition to groups like the Family Research Council, American Family Association, and other such lobbying groups. Somehow, the ones one the right tend to be more vocal, like you say, but also a lot more well-heeled and politically aggressive.

    Disgusting and despicable but also does this pastor realize that suicide is also claimed a terrible sin. Hypocritical Christians at their best!

    The bigoted ones are not true Christians in my book. A true Christian shows love and compassion. Yes, even to the Evil hell bound homosexual.

    I'm just getting tired of religious interpretation. The Christian reasoning for homosexuality being bad is just as valid as the Muslim one for killing everyone who is non-muslim. Ironically you won't find the former agreeing with the latter when at the end of the day it is just one of many interpretations of their own book.

    Thankfully religion is having less and less of an impact on our daily lives. Good thing religion was never really an issue for me, I was always an atheist.

    People can argue it is the religion to blame and yes that is a fair argument but it is the people in it that fucked it up a few times too many. Sadly them dying off will only farther my cause as a gay christian.

    again people, nowhere in the Bible (at least in mine) does it tell me to hate a homosexual, in fact, I believe it tells me to love him as I love myself.
    those that try to point to the Bible as a crutch to use against the homosexuals are NOT CHRISTIANS, or they have not read the Bible. They use one of TWO lines out of the entire book to justify their hate and skip the thousands that tell them otherwise.

    I actually am one of the few that took the time to read and study the Bible. more than once. And, I did a refresher on it just a few years back after having my ass handed to me when I got into an internet debate against a person that at the time I had no clue was an actual Pastor. LOL,,, Did not go well for me :roflmao:

    Thanks! Got to speak the truth. My bf who died was very passionate and prayed everyday for any reason and loved God with all his heart. He led me to the truth and thanks to him I have confidence in everything in my life than never before.

    Anyone who tells someone to kill themselves is scum. There is nothing like that in the Bible or in the heart of a real Christian...
