LGBT News Anti-gay activist-shaped lollipops sold at a pride parade

Around 300 people gathered last Sunday on the LGBT demonstration "Rainbow Flashmob" in Saint-Petersburg, Russia, FlashNord reports.

This demonstration coincides with the 25th anniversary of removal of homosexuality from the International Classification of Diseases of the World Health Organization (WHO) in 1990.

The activists carried banners which read "Love is stronger than hatred" and "This is our city" and proclaimed [sic!] "Glory to Putin!" and "March on, Russia!". The flashmob's organisers called out its members for solidarity with other discriminated minorities. The demonstration was finished with dozens of rainbow-coloured baloons being fired into the sky.

All members of the demonstrations were given lollipops shaped like the head of Deputy of the Legislative Assembly of Saint-Petersburg, Vitaly Milonov.

Milonov himself, known as a strong opponent to the LGBT community and one of the main proponents of the infamous Russian "homosexual propaganda" law, was not present at the demonstration, but some of his followers, including the man's wife, Eva Liburkina, were sighted nearby.
