And they should reinstate the marriages of those they voided too whilst they are at it.

 

I think that equal marriage is becoming something that is almost expected from developed nations. There are many things governments view as essential in order to keep their seat at the top table in various organisations and I feel equal marriage is becoming one of these things too

Especially in the business world.

No one wants to be associated with a country that actively discriminates against LGBT people.

I predict that every developed country will have marriage equality by the end of the decade.

 

Thank Fuck! I've been waiting for my Country to get with the times for awhile now! And I absolutely cannot wait to see the smug look on Tony Abbots face when this goes through!

There's a difference between saying it's going to happen and it actually happening.

 

I think it's only a matter of time before Australia has gay marriage, when is another question. My guess would be yes, it's likely soon, perhaps the next few years.

I really can't see it taking longer than five to ten years from now though.

This seems to be a great year for marriage equality. Makes me wonder how much longer until western like countries will all have marriage equality (Europe minus Russia + North America)

 

It's certainly being discussed a LOT more in the media now - probably thanks to Ireland
