This was not a homophobic heckler. The heckler was a transgender woman of color who works for an LGBTQ immigration advocacy group. She was heckling the President's policy of deporting LGBTQ asylum seekers, which is a fair point, but it was not the right way to go about trying to change his policy.

    Very true.

To be fair, I find it rude that she was interrupting the president, so Obama's response is understandable in my opinion.

I definitely agree that what she did was uncalled for. Talking to the President after his speech would have been more productive.

Then again, we're all human and she was just voicing an opinion. She probably felt awful and still feels awful simply because her little slight was magnified by that she was directing her criticism at a figure of authority supposedly better than everybody else.

Also, I dislike Obama's attitude of shaming opposition as "skeptics and cynics", which admittedly applies nicely to Republicans, but he is nastily generous with that phrase according to me... random but oh well

She shouldn't have interrupted him either way. I doubt he was opening the floor to debate at that moment.
