    More huge news out of the US today when it comes to LGBTQ rights. As a former (cub) scout myself, I'm glad to see this organization moving forward and making progress when it comes to openly gay people in the scouts. :slight_smile: Now to work on allowing atheists and agnostics :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

    I used to be a Cub Scout, but never made it to boy scouts. Was fun, though.

    Wow! That's literally come out of nowhere, I know the new president mentioned he felt it should change a few months ago but the association has always been slow to act on things. I think it's just amazing, I joined scouts as a cub scout and went on to become a leader with Sea Scouts and I just couldn't imagine the crushing feeling to be told at 18 I couldn't be a leader, for many former gay scouts who want to be leaders the damage has been done. But it means anyone who wants to move on now can.

    I just left scouts because it was too much dysphoria, but its good to know they are opening up.

    With all the idiocy coming from the anti-lgbt conservatives, it's nice to see things still progressing in an open-minded direction.

    This is great news! I got up to boy scout and then was given the choice if I wanted to stay, which I didn't. However, even though I was kind of "forced" to being part of it by my parents, I do appreciate all of the events and experiences I got from it. I'm glad this will be open to openly gay folks now, too. :thumbsup:
