    She's obviously trying to have her cake and eat it too by trying to say that she can be against LGBT discrimination and then turn around and say that same sex couples can't get married. It's discrimination, plain and simple, Angela!

    I know she doesn't hate gays or anything. It just seems like she's letting her own personal beliefs get in the way of her political views. It's nice that she supports anti-discrimination and civil partnerships, so I don't hate her for that.

    If she's saying that marriage is between a man and a woman she should really re-read the bible, there's actually a /lot/ of pro-gay stuff in it and nothing at all that says gays can't marry.

    Also another point to bring up is... marriage isn't necessarily religious, so claiming religion as a reason to stop people from marrying is stupid. In the eyes of the law it's merely a legal partnership, no religion involved.

    "I don't want you to be discriminated against! I just want to deny you the one right that you guys have been fighting for the most. I don't think you should have the option of marriage, but verdammt! I still want your money~!"

    Right when I thought there was hope for marriage equality in Germany...

    I wonder, are the church and state separated much in Germany (if at all)? I should know about that, but I don't. Can someone educate me on the subject?
