I think it is ridiculous people consider someone's sexuality as important, as the above posts seem to lead ... I think their skills and education is what is important, and fussing over him being gay is just pathetic and not helping anything.
Those who identify as GLBT have endured enough discrimination in the army and/or navy. Hopefully this is a new beginning and a new policy towards acceptance of diversity. I agree with you, Hugo Boss that education and skills are more important but the fact is that GLBT members are facing discrimination and harassment in the army/navy on a daily basis.
I don't care if someone's gay. I want to know he/she can do a good job. All I've heard about him is that he fundraises well. That's nice, but what else.
We need to end Don't Ask, Don't Tell and certainly having a gay man as a high ranking official would be beneficial to that. People are still being dismissed from the military because they are gay or lesbian. Its ridiculous. It shouldn't be an issue, but it is.
No Lex, just you. :roflmao: However, I could hum along with these sailors.
After reading the comments on the article...is it not odd that it's always them telling us that we're full of sin? It's never them? Nope, they're good to go, but dammit if we don't straighten out quick we're gonna burn.
