LGBT News Anti-gay pastor has gay relations online, hypocrite much?

    A Christian pastor who supports "traditional marriage" was recently found online flirting with men, while he would give anti-gay hate speech elsewhere.

    Apparently he would go around making people feel bad about themselves for how they are born, and then goes out and does exactly what he judges people on. "Judge gay people loudly, then go online and sex chat with men all day"

    I don't understand what sort of crazy brainwashing must have happened.

    It kind of bothers me that this doesn't even surprise me. Maybe I am a bit jaded but after learning about so many conservative homophobic people being closeted and gay over the years it's about as surprising as the sun rising in the East every day.

    I am absolutely on the same wavelength as this comment.

    It's absolutely ridiculous that these guys do this, but my assumption is that it's been the case since the beginning of religion. These aren't exceptions to the rule, they're just part of how the religious power constructs are setup.* I don't doubt that it's likely a low percentage of this that occurs, but I think that low percentage has always been there. I hope it can be eradicated at some point in the future, but I won't hold my breath.

    * I'm not sure if this is just part of human nature, or if it's specific to religion.

    There's a theory that some homophobes are actually gay themselves. But they are very uncomfortable with it or they're ashamed of themselves, and that's why they spend all their time trying to bash gay people and what not.

    I think it kind of applies to this guy in a way...

    There are few things more pathetic than a homosexual who is so ashamed of who he is that he turns it into outright hostility against other homosexuals. It's difficult for me to feel malice toward them when I'm consumed with pity on a grand scale.

    I truly hope that most homophobes are not in fact, gay.

    ...this is reflective of my life, I hope he can find peace with himself. It's been absolute hell upon realizing what I said in the past and who I could have hurt. This pains me. I can't let it go though everyone says I should. Please forgive him.

    I feel sorry for the guy especially after reading some of these comments. He seems troubled and I hope he can find inner peace with himself.

    I think it just goes to show what affect a homophobic society can have on people. He's gay and so he probably knows he didn't just choose to be that way out of sin, yet can still hate people because he refuses to believe that others can just "be gay" out of nature rather than sin.
