For this story, I think we're beginning to see the effect of legalized gay marriage.

The news media were ON FIRE with gay marriage stories for a week after the Supreme Court ruling. But for the Boy Scouts dropping their decades-long ban on gay Scoutmasters, it didn't even make headlines.

I think this story is bigger than the media made it out to be. The national organization now has a non-discrimination policy that applies to all paid staff. While some local chapters affiliated with conservative churches will still discriminate, others will not. And this will bring the gay-friendly parts of the organization into contact with the rest of the organization.
