Doesn't seem like they have any chance though. Just more waste of time and money.

A waste of time and money; I'm not worried.

Unless the Court wants to overturn one of their most recent opinions in Obergefell v Hodges, this won't get taken up. It's up to Elena Kagan as well.

This is in Ireland, not the United States.

It should also be noted that one of the laypeople bringing the case, Maurice Lyons, is infamous for refusing to divorce his wife.

They haven't got a chance, they're only being entertained because they have to.. We were always expecting challengers, but no one's worried... Waste of time, waste of money and a further delay in processing the legislation.. A nuisance more than anything

I was under the impression that Ireland had the referendum to change the constitution with the sole purpose of avoiding the Supreme Court. If this makes it anywhere, I'd be surprised.
