Turned down an invite to meet with homeless LGBT youth... WTF? Jesus ate with all sorts of sinners and invited them in... How very Christ-like. Damn, even back when I was catholic I'd probably be shaking my head at this.

I had to look up other sources to see if this was seriously legit, but it looks like it is ..I'm just a little shocked, that of all the people in the world ..she got a chance to meet with him, seeing how tough he is to get close to, & not because she's not Catholic or anything, also it just kinda bugs me a bit ..seeing as how according to the Catholic church getting divorced more than once & mostly importantly having a child out of wedlock is a big no-no, but then again ..who knows what they discussed at the meeting, maybe it wasn't all sunshine & rainbows ..who knows, & while it's an extremely unpopular opinion on this site, & to many ..I'll give her props for standing by her beliefs, & even going to jail for it ..most people aren't that strong in their beliefs, but in my personal opinion, even as a Catholic I can't say I agree with how she went about the marriage licenses, even though she has her beliefs ..it's not a religious institution that she's serving in this case.

It's all over the place on major news sites, so it's one hell of an elaborate hoax if it's a lie.

This pope is certainly a step in the right direction, but I'm still very weary of him. We'll see if progress continues, but until lgbt folks can get married in the church, stop being told people being love & having sex with matching genatalia is a sin, and women can become priests, he's merely a figurehead of a still rather flawed institution.

Wow... And I thought the pope was such a sweet old man too...
I can understand meeting with Kim Davis. But not with LGBT homeless youth? I thought Catholics were supposed to love everyone, even "sinners"

Good thing I don't give a damn about the pope or religion in general or I'd be uber pissed at this. Maybe I could feign being pissed...nah, not worth it.

Meeting with LGBT Homeless Youth would have been very problematic politically, because it would have exposed how Catholic charities often treat Homeless LGBT Youth (read: horribly). Just try being a trans* kid trying to get into a homeless shelter run by a Catholic Charity. It's one of the many problems LGBT Homeless Youth--who make up roughly half of ALL homeless youth in the country--face on a regular basis, discrimination from religious charities.

Yea very sadden to hear...I'm catholic and he was so good to say in public about gays " who's he to judge and welcomed everyone" tho finding out today was just him being two faced...its weird that the Vatican wouldn't comment on the situation then changed and said they don't deni they met but won't comment on what they talked about...so its pretty shitty.. Hey Kim if you feel so strongly then quit you job you took on the responsibility to uphold the law not pick and choose..people are trying to make her a matter for standing by her faith but hmmm I think she's just a stupid b**ch trying to get publicity. I really don't understand why she's still their...OK so I ranted sorry I really don't like two faces people

The only question I have is why should a non-Catholic care what the pope has to say? Kim Davis's denomination of Christianity considers Catholics to be unsaved.

The reason she gets media coverage is because she is a complete nincompoop. That's pretty much how media works here.
