So I was on the bus today and I looked in front of me at a woman who was holding a newspaper (pfft, we've all done it probably) and I saw an article in "The metro" (the newspaper she was holding) and I saw an article under the name "cross-dressing birds", so naturally it caught my attention.

The article was about how they'd found a group of birds where the some of the males would make themselves look like females, as a way of getting closer to the females and avoiding competition.

I don't know how old this news is since the newspapers have likely been on that bus for a while, who knows?

So umm... yeah. Just thought I'd bring this up.

    More here.

Ah, I just noticed that and I wondered if I'd temporarily lost my sanity. Good to know it's still in check, also thanks for adding the quote.

This happens in fish too. I remember the other day in my animals class (we learn about animals and work with them), we watched a documentary about ocean creatures. I think the fish was called cuttlefish, but I'm not sure. I just remember there was a large male who mated with a female, and fought off other large males. A small male made himself look like a female, to fool the large male. The large male took the bait, and the small male ended up mating with the female underneath the large male... lmao.
