Holy shit. Kind of at loss for words right now. I mean, I know the kid was armed but 16 times? Shot 16 times?
Every thing the police and mayor said was a damned lie. They said he lunged at police. He did not. They said he died of a single gun shot wound. He was hit 16 times. Most of them when he was already hit, lying on the ground. It was a summary execution.

ugh. It makes me sick to think about how many times this probably happened and no one knew because it was before the time of cameras everywhere.
He will; no getting out of this one with the dash cam video. All I saw was the kid walking and then getting dropped. If he was armed, this act by itself is possibly justified because we don't see his front side and he may have reached for the gun. But to continue shooting him that many times after he's on the ground seems like pretty malicious intent. And there was certainly no "lunge" at least in the video.
Is it true that it helps when applying for a job as a US policeman, being a member of the KKK will help. From looking at the way the police treat black youths as it looks like it's a prerequisite. I believe if you are a young black man living in the US you are more lightly to be in prison than be free!
This is absolutely terrible what happened to this kid. He wasn't approaching the cops or threatening them, why the hell shoot him? And he was still just a kid for crying out loud. Not even a legal adult. It's terrible how his life was cut short like that. Actually, last night, my mother didn't want me going to the mall near Chicago because she thought there would be riots and my friend and I would be targeted because we're both white. That's kind of scary to think about (of course nothing happened.) I remember her saying, "If you ever find yourself in that situation, drop on the floor and pretend you're dead." It's really, really sad when you have to think about all of this stuff potentially happening. It's sad she has to worry about somebody trying to kill me when I just want to go see a movie. It's getting more and more dangerous for everyone by the minute, especially for us here in the Chicagoland. Nobody is safe, not the cops, not the civilians. Doesn't matter what skin-tone you are anymore. I wish we would just stop killing each other already, it's getting old.

I wouldn't be so sure of that. Darren Wilson got away with it. The Rodney King officers got away with it. Heck, Michael Slager might get away with it. But this incident should show you how corrupt police departments have become. The department not only tried to cover up this video, but the officers at the scene tried to force the manager of a Burger King near the scene to destroy their security camera footage that caught the incident. We need to continue these prosecutions to the fullest extent of the law in order to combat this corruption.
Just heard the cops went to Burger King and deleted the footage. If they were acting in "self defense" then they should be confident to show the recording to support their case. What are they so fucking afraid of?
