General News 30 Percent of GOP Voters In Favor of Bombing Aladdin's Home Country

Why do people want to bomb other places. It's also interesting how many people said they weren't sure.

I don't know whether this is funny or just sad?

 

From the link:

19 percent of Democrats support bombing Agrobah, while 36 percent of them oppose it.

That leaves 45% of Democrats unsure. While that's better than the Republicans, it's still not good.

 

Were they joking? I would say that the majority of people don't actually believe Agrabah is a real country.

 

Hopefully most of the people doing the poll google up the name before voting.

 

There are only ~200 countries in the world :lol:. I would expect most Americans to have heard of the North African, Middle Eastern, Arabic,Central Asian countries by now given out involvement there.


Maybe they were thinking of the Taj Mahal and bombing Agra :lol:.

It seems to me that this poll was constructed to create an inflammatory result. Use an Arabesque sounding country name and most people will make inferences if they are unfamiliar with the name.

Shame on the pollsters for this sort of trickery!

 

I'll admit it, I didn't know what it was referring to. I don't know the names of all the countries in the world, nor have I ever seen Aladdin, or any other animated Disney movie. If I were on Jeopardy I'd do terrible in that category. If I wouldn't have been given time to google it, I would've had to say "not sure".

I'm not a big fan of just automatically going for the "drop a bomb" option anyway, even if a real country out there might be a threat.

Reminds me of that poll that asked people if dihydrogen monoxide should be banned. :lol:

 

They pretty much relied on them not knowing that specific detail from a disney movie and then used political psychology to trick them. it seems a little underhanded considering aladdins target audience wasnt mostly middle aged conservatives, but i like how it exposed their complete ignorance of the real issues anyway.

I say, a good indicator that quite a lot of American are happy to bomb any country as long as it has an Arabian sounding name. : /

 

The whole point is to see how readily people want to bomb any place that sounds remotely arabic..

 

These people will be voting for Trump.
