'Affluenza' fugitive Ethan Couch nabbed in Mexico

I had heard about that little news update last night while I was browsing my news feeds on social media.

I'm glad that kid was arrested. I have a bit of strong opinions for this case. I felt the original judge that sentenced this kid was way too lax.

That's great that he's been nabbed. I've been following this, and I also think the judge was far, far too lenient, to the point you had to wonder if he'd been paid off.

I also recall the prosecutor telling the judge he'd be seeing this kid in court again...and surprise, surprise!

It's sad when you can kill and permanently disable people, and just walk away, all on account of wealth...

I honestly think race and class were factors in this whole case. I hate to bring up race and make it seem like I'm playing the race card which I'm not.

I've been in jail myself a few years back. It was some immature shit but I learned and grew up from it as a result. I was drunk in public at a Subway eating a sandwich. And some hardass cop in my college town had saw me. I was taken in to the local county jail and processed and went before a JP(Magistrate judge). I went through that and let go a few hours later. I didn't serve "real jail time" just a fine. I had to pay $520 fine for a class c misdemeanor.

I learned from that mistake and it was a learning experience.

But I bring up this story, because myself and "Mr. Couch" are two different people. I'm a Hispanic/Mexican American, lower middle class. "Mr.Couch" is upper middle class/Anglo boy.

He got a slap on the face while I paid a fine.

And people assume that were in some "post racial" society, I have to say Bullshit.

This kid sickens me. He gets away with parole (while not showing any remorse for his actions) and that's apparently too much for the little spoiled brat to handle.

I'm looking forward to hearing that he's going to prison for a long time. HE MAKES ME SO ANGRY. :***:

I do believe that there was something with race/class because if it were a Hispanic or black kid and not a rich White kid, the outcome would've been different. I'm not speaking bias, people have argued that point similar to mine.

I just hope he screws up again under adult probation (it seems he may only face 120 days in jail at this time because he violated juvenile probation) and later gets 10-40 years. Or they find a way to make him serve some real time right now.

I also hope they throw his mom in the slammer, for helping him skip the border!

This kid looks like a brat and a menace. If I was the judge, I'd have him working the fields 8 hours a day on a chain gang, picking beans in the hot sun, for the next 20 years.

I hope he rots in prison. Being spoiled to death is an excuse to kill people now? Don't make me projectile vomit all over this screen!

Hey guys GREAT news (not). He probably won't serve time as he committed the drink driving offence as a juvenile. Such is justice in the western world.

He will probably be doing time for unlawful flight to avoid prosecution though. He fled the country while wanted for a probation violation.

If it's about his age, that's okay, I guess. I just can't stand the "afflunenza" thing!

This is what pisses me off! There are people who are wrongly accused of crimes and spend years in prison and that fucker gets probation? Fuck that! His ass needs to go to jail for a loooonnnngggg time!
