I look forward to the day Sarah Palin steps out of the limelight and the media doesn't cover her or her family. I can't say that, as far as her social intelligence goes, she is an imbecile when you consider how far she has gotten in life. As far as brains go, when compared to other politicians, she IS an imbecile.

Nobody really cares what Caribou Barbie thinks anymore. Her fifteen minutes of fame ran out quite a while ago.

What a gruesome twosome...talk about two people who make me wanna barf.

I have seldom loathed anyone as much as Sarah Palin; I used to have these fantasies where she was violently devoured by wolves.

Mean, yes, but God, what a horrid, nasty woman.

I heard this was because Cruz said something bad about her and she got really pissed because she did a lot to support Cruz.

Honestly, I'd rather have Trump be the nominee than Cruz.

It's sorta like preferring Mussolini to Hitler, but probably the lesser of the evils.

But imagine Pain with a cabinet position, such as health or education...This is a real danger, if Trump gets in.

Good news is he's not going to get in. In fact, him getting the nomination would cost the GOP the election. Cruz is more electable than Trump, and Cruz can gather enough support (according to polls) to defeat Hillary (not Sanders). Trump, on the other hand, just barely gathers enough to defeat her and gets destroyed by Sanders.

Basically, Trump is lethal to the GOP. That's actually the only reason I want him to be the nominee. So I can watch him lose.

If by the off chance Trump gets elected and Palin gets a cabinet position, I think I'll actually move to Canada.

What's weird is when you talk to people who thought, back in the day, that she could have done a good job. They don't know anything about her qualifications, or lack of qualifications. Most Palin supporters I've known have been some of the most clueless people I've known. The problem is that more and more unqualified, and hopefully not electable, people just like her are showing up and tossing their hat in the ring for major political posts.

She became boring pretty quickly when I was watching the debate. Even Trump had that look on his face which implied ''what the bloody hell did I bring to the stage?'' at certain times. She's loud, repetitive and un-charismatic. The ''are you ready for my spaghetti'' tone kind of brings a very comical edge every time she speaks anyway. Hopefully he won't bring her around for mini-lectures too often

    Other than that

She's even more vapid and unsuited to high office than he is. I'm genuinely shocked that it's getting so far. I'm annoyed that she's predicted to boost his popularity in Iowa; I honestly can't see how people can attach any weight to her opinion.

Trump's politics consists of a terrifyingly unserious populist authoritarianism defined by negative emotion rather than rationality or intelligent compassion. Bizarre ideas like punitive tariffs against China, undertaking to build unbuildable walls or banning the entry of (and implicitly deporting) an entire religious group contrary to US law and international obligations seem conceived with barely the faintest thought that they should actually work. He rejects researched policies and derides expertise in a singularly unsophisticated and unworkable way for a prospective president of the United States.

The favour of perhaps America's most famously stupid politician would be useless but for its value as a warning. Even to be so irresponsible and malicious as to knowingly agree with his proposed policies (if they can be called that) wouldn't make up for the lack of a coherent end goal.

If Palin can agree with all that, then she's merely living up to her name. It's like jumping on the flashiest wagon even if it doesn't have any goods to deliver.

I can't listen to her talk for more than ten seconds. To my Aspergers brain, her voice sounds like an adult from a Charlie Brown cartoon. Same reason I can't listen to Barack Obama at a press conference longer than about thirty seconds.

I'm somehow not surprised. I can't really remember much about Palin's views, but my sense is the last person she'd endorse would be anyone who is remotely moderate. And given her lack of qualifications when she ran for VP, I can't imagine she'd be bothered by Trump's lack of qualifications.

It's not turning into a circus. It's been one for quite some time!

Honestly, I'd wondered before now if Trump wouldn't look to Palin. I think she still would have support with the sorts of people who support him...

    ---------- Post added 20th Jan 2016 at 07:16 AM ----------

Actually, I think for some the lack of qualifications was a huge selling point. Her supporters are people likely to hate government, want minimal government, and view someone with a long career in government "part of the problem".

It's indicative that the U.S. is probably more redneck than I thought it to be. I thought people were becoming more enlightened as time has marched on. Evidently, that's not the case.

Among certain bottom feeders of the Republican party, that is exactly why they like Palin and Trump also.

On a side note, I heard a segment on the news today where Palin said that once Trump is elected America will never apologize for anything ever again. I have no idea what she's referring to. :rolle:

Her support for Trump hasn't swayed my parents at all, they're still Huckabee fans. :frowning2:
