    This ones not exactly news per se but it is pretty stupid that people still think they can change who their children are

    This is not new--that letter/answer is a "best of", and I know I've seen it before.

    That said, it's worth reading, and maybe even keeping a copy of to show people who talk about "choice."

    All this aside, there are, unfortunately, lots of people out there who still think it's a "choice." One sees the stories here regularly.

    One of the people at my school always says it's a choice and its a sin to one of my lesbian friends. I'm surprised that they are still friends.

    Stupid as hell letter (who forgets their kid's birthday for 3 years in a row?!) but I love the response.

    Oh, I read about that and the mom is just a mean person in general. What kind of mother forgets her child's birthday 3 times in a row.

    I thought AMy's response was pretty great though. She told the mother to prove to her child that being gay is in fact a choice, by becoming gay for a while, haha.
