LGBT News Trans man with Asperger’s shot and killed by police in Arizona

My partner wrote an article about Kayden's death, and I've seen numerous articles that openly misgender him and say he's a woman. It's so depressing.

 

It's very sad to see so many articles who are misgendering Kayden so blatantly. This is also another example of police not knowing how to communicate properly with marginalized communities such as transmen and those who are neurotypical. Trans Lives Matter, and it's past time police and others start to realize that. Hopefully these officers will be charged for this, but I really doubt it.

 

Sigh, the person who wrote the article misgendered him twice. How hard is it to use the correct pronouns in an article that speaks about how problematic misgendering can be? I hope the author realizes his mistake soon enough as it is really hurtful. :icon_sad:

 

So they go there because they think he's considering suicide, and shoot him?

Trans people aren't super common but somehow the US manages to kill a ridiculous number every year. Also as a reporter, it shouldn't be that hard to get somebody's gender right, but I've come to expect it sadly.

 

Cops are bloodthirsty animals who prey on minorities, if they see an opportunity to sate their bloodlust by killing someone who their fraternal brotherhood deems subhuman, they take it. All cops are equally evil, even the "good" ones, as they are part of a secret society, sworn in under oaths and take part in filling quotas that are unseen. In short: Fuck the police.

 

So now another young trans (14 or 15 years old) reads the article, and thinks ugh, I better shut the fuck up, and carry on faking it...

Mom, you sure loved someone, a pity it wasn't your son, isn't it? But mom you are fine, you are fine...

 

What exactly happened though? Was it proven that the guy was charging the police with a knife?

 

I could be wrong, but I believe Kayden was feeling extremely suicidal at the time and the cops shot him when he wasn't calming down.

 

Scum. How many more innocent people have to die before something is done?

In other news links I saw, it said the police were not wearing body cameras. The police allege that Kayden Clarke rushed toward them with a 12 inch kitchen knife while they were waiting for another cop to get a bean bag gun.

 

I have lost faith in this planet and its contents...

As an autistic, I would have lashed out if they came near me. Rushing someone with a knife in that situation would only happen if the officers were overstimulating me. Being suicidal and most likely depressed while being overstimulated just makes a situation worse, and I could see an autistic person rushing officers with a knife in these conditions.

But it's a bit less plausible if he was calling the police, most likely for help. Committing suicide by cop is still possible, but I would need to see evidence to fully believe it.

Being in a world where the autistic and transgendered are marginalized is very stressful for Clarke. Your world is made for people very different from you. Clarke was probably discriminated against often for who he was. i would like to believe that the "autistic" and "trains man" part were of little consequence to the suicide and shooting, but I can't.

I highly doubt it. Shortly before he died, Kayden made a video saying he got approved to start T and was so excited.
