    More here

Frankly, if the elected officials actually did their jobs than this would be unnecessary.

How come when it comes to preventing discrimination against minorities American politicians are impotent, but when far right Christians throw a temper tantrum they'll bend over backwards to accommodate them?

Federal government should be stamping this kind of thing out. They're blatantly trying to get around Obergefell.

Marriage license should be eliminated everywhere, the government shouldn't define marriage at all. However, this law was only passed for discriminatory purposes, which sucks--still, I'd say the ends justify the means.

When someone tries to discriminate against Christians it's "persecution"

Discriminate against atheists, and it's perfectly fine. We're still not allowed to run for office in a few states, as silly as it is. If a law said "A Christian cannot run for office in this state"... well, you know what would happen.

Actually that is not in practice true. This sort of a ban is unconstitutional and if challenged the courts would strike it down. Clear violation of the 1st amendment.

I would agree with Alabama's move as well, provided that the legal benefits of marriage were also done away with. If you want marriage to be only a religious/ceremonial thing, then it shouldn't have tax benefits and other secular, legal ramifications.
