I fully support the doctors, 110%, although unfortunately I don't think they will be successful against a tyrant as evil and stubborn as Hunt.

It is completely understandable why they are striking though.

Jeremy Hunt claims he wants better better NHS cover over weekends, he claims that currently this is not good enough, but then instead of doing the rational thing and investing to reach this goal....he actually attempts to stretch existing (already stretched) resources further

As an analogy think of this as baking a cake. You only just have enough ingredients for a cake for 5 people, but want to make it for 7. Now do you invest in more ingredients....or do you keep the existing stretched ingredients, maybe bulk it up with some rat poison (the addition of his forced contract and general contempt for the doctors), then magically expect a perfect 7 person cake to come out the oven? The latter is exactly what Hunt is doing. It is utter nonsense.

Our doctors are already overstretched. What Hunt's "imposed contract" (how on earth can you impose a contract anyway?) is doing is essentially forcing doctors to work even longer hours as part of their basic duties (as what would previously be seen as overtime is now normal pay). The whole point of higher overtime pay (in any career) is to discourage hirers from overworking staff regularly, ringfencing this as exceptional cases where staff are justly rewarded. the point is if hirers have to pay more to make staff work longer, this should indicate they need more staff cover.

And believe none of his bull about this being "for the NHS" or "for the people". He is adamantly anti-NHS and wants it to fail (as has been revealed previously). This measure is purely and solely about panic-driven cost saving for his government (because Dodgy Osborne has cooked the books and fudged the figures for the last 6 years). Hunt does not care about Doctors being rewarded properly, or even about patient safety under the care of exhausted doctors. He just cares about profit.
