I was only discussing the National Union of Students yesterday and how they're a group of loons, but now students at Newcastle University have voted for their university to leave it entirely. Apparently Lincoln University did the same this week and similar votes are going to be held at other universities in the UK (including ultra-liberal Oxford and Cambridge):

I have to say, this pleases me more than it should. The NUS is a complete joke, and their leader is a nutter. Maybe today's students aren't so bad, given how dissatisfied people are.

    Good.

The very point of having a "National Union of Students" has to be that their views are represented. Instead the NUS turned into a niche organization run by and representing social justice warriors focussed on obscure interests like establishing "safe spaces" and "trigger warnings".

These people are not typical students. Your average student is less worried about whether there are quotas in place for left-handed BAME Muslim trans women on student councils, and more worried about real world issues like tuition fees, rent charges, future job security, tuition contact time.

The NUS is just an absolute joke now:
    -Banning clapping for being "triggering"
-Banning gay men as reps as they aren't oppressed enough
-Refusing to condemn ISIS claiming doing so is "Islamophobic"
-Motioning to stop commerorating the Holocaust because doing so "isn't inclusive"
-Supporting Islamic Societies linked to extremist guest speakers and groups

The only reason it manages to survive is on the money leached from students by enforced registration. Students are forced to pay the NUS fee to join university social clubs and varsities that have nothing to do with the NUS.
