LGBT News #GiveElsaAGirlfriend has an anti-movement now

This is what I wrote a couple days ago on what I thought;

Sorry for the way this is typed, I wrote this on a notepad and not word.

Why Elsa can't be gay

1. Sexuality is born and not made.
Now I know that all characters are
'created' but Elsa must have been
'created' gay - and not through the
pressures of the audience.

2. If her song 'Let It Go' which has
been suggested about being LGBT,
her line 'Standing frozen, in the life
I've chosen' would not work - as
sexuality cannot be chosen

On giving Elsa a prince:

I don't they should, the whole point
of Elsa is her freedom and being by
herself. Although she was sad by
isolation, that doesn't mean she
has to fall in love with a person to
be happy; she can be happy that
she's found love with her
sister and opened up her kingdom.

I think they should make a new character
, suggestion: a feminine gay prince,
to be the lead character and dream of
finding his (feminine gay) King to
rule the kingdom with him.
-- Reasons for two feminine guys is that
male feminitity needs to be seen as
empowering and good, and to break the
sterotype that 'one has to be feminine,
one has to be masculine'.

I also think how they do it is key. I do
not think they should make it a big deal
the character is gay. [That way
they won't have anti-gay people
trying to stop the movie]. The lead prince
should be introduced with the main
storyline however disney films are,
but instead of the simple ''dreaming of
a magic princess" it will be changed to
the simple ''dreaming of a magic prince''
- which then develops over the main
story plot.

 

Geez! People just have to get in the way when we have a good thing going don't they?! Personally I love the thought of Elsa being a lesbian.

 

I think Elsa being gay would be totally awesome! A lesbian Disney Princess would be HUGE.

 

I think it sounds like a fun idea. I don't want to make any political spectacle about it, but yeah, I just think I would like to see it.

 

Honestly, I'd prefer her single.

 

I haven't watched it, but I think it's refreshing to have her single. A change of pace from all the other sappy endings.

 

I honestly don't care. Like if I'm being real with you it's a non-issue. Disney isn't going to care about the morality of this issue. They are going to look at the numbers and go, "What makes us the most money?" and that's going to be the deciding factor in this.

 

Heaven forbid that a "secular" state actually makes moves to be more secular!

Anyway, #GiveElsaAGirlfriend is great!
I'm not sure if it'll actually happen or not, but the support is heartwarming.
As for wether it'll actually happen?

Am I the only one that thought Elsa and Merida would of been one hell of a power couple? Though at same time their personalities might conflict.

Of coure I've also never watch Frozen.

More of aromantic. I was all for the idea until someone pointed out that aros should also get some media representation, despite of how subtle it may be.

personally irdgaf about whether or not she's gay lol. seriously doubt Disney would actually do that anyways

though Elsa X Gray(from Fairy Tail) is still my favorite Elsa ship

 

I'm honestly kind of annoyed about the "Give Elsa a Girlfriend" thing. No. I like her single and independent. She can still be interpreted as a lesbian when single. She can be interpreted as asexual. She can be interpreted as a straight woman who doesn't need a man to complete her story. I am ALL FOR a lesbian princess, but I want a new princess, not one that's already been established.

 

I understand why so many people want to make Elsa gay and I am all for a lesbian princess but I do not think that it has to be Elsa. I really enjoyed that Elsa was so independent and didn't seem to need anyone but her sister. I would like to think of her as more asexual or aromantic than gay. The same thing goes for Merida. I've seen people want to make her a lesbian as well and I see her more as just independent and doesn't want to marry.

We need to make a new petition for Disney. Give us a gay prince or a lesbian princess. Or both! The prince doesn't have to be butch, he can be feminine and so can his love. A lesbian princess can be a tomboy but she can also be a lady. Give us an LGBT prince/princess should be our real focus, not whether or not we can make Elsa gay.

 

I think she should stay single. There should be another lesbian princess in a future movie.

 

I'd rather it be that a new lesbian/gay character is created.

Mostly just 'cause I didn't care for Frozen.

 

The only issue I have with Elsa being a lesbian is that it seems more like people were just overanalyzing a few things from the movie and stringing them together to make Elsa an lgbt character. I'm all for it if that indeed was the creators original intentions but it could turn out overall badly for both lgbt people and the story of the series if they end up making Elsa a lesbian for.the sake of pleasing some fans.
