Usually the stated excuse I've heard from Republicans opposing early voting is voter fraud. Although occasional cases of voter fraud do occur, (sometimes from Republicans also) I've never heard of a case of voter fraud in Ohio ever affecting the outcome of a decision. The last Republican who tried to tell me how bad early voting was because of "voter fraud" I casually asked him, "but wouldn't having extra time before the votes are actually counted on election day give the board of elections more time to check the registration and catch voter fraud?" I never got an answer.
