I really don't get why so many people are trying to be "mini-Hitler" all of the sudden.

It's scary enough to go to the parade in Texas without their bullshit, at least they're adding security I suppose.

    Yeah, it's terrible :frowning2:

And they were planning to increase the number of officers at the Parade after/because of Orlando I think. Hopefully they'll also keep a closer watch on everything after knowing about this as well. At least the police are aware I suppose.

Anyhow please stay safe everyone, whether you're attending or not (*hug*)

Sadly I have a feeling that this type of thing is going to be an issue for Pride events atleast for the next couple weeks while Orlando remains in the news :frowning2:

Hopefully they will all turn out to be false threats.

    -----
I've seen no reports of threats like some other Pride Events have had, but the news has said Denver PrideFest (which I probably will go to) will have increased security and metal detectors!
In all honesty, if anything what happened in Orlando makes me want to go even more, but the thought of metal detectors and security lines like in an airport kinda makes me want to stay away (but it won't..if I decide to go, I'm going)

I think once America got marriage equality, there was bound to be a backlash. The law changed, but society didn't.

I really don't feel safe these days. If I were forced out of the closet somehow, there are distant relatives who could very well try to hurt me.

I plan on going to Chicago Pride. I hope nothing bad happens at any of the upcoming pride parades. I feel like a lot of these are empty threats. But either way, we can't show them we're scared.
