    Well, it's not like I can run out in public and yell "Hail gay Satan!" without backlash, no?

    "Hail Mass Murder!" makes even less sense. At least Gay Satan has nice hair.

    Free speech is a thing, yes, but it does have consequences. You cannot just say what you want and just believe you will get away with it. Maybe the consequences won't be judicial, but there will be consequences. I am just glad that, while it may be minor, justice was served. We gotta take the little victories.

    What people don't understand is free speech protects you from the government... The Feds won't come and arrest you for yelling "fag" but yelling "fag" in a restaurant, store etc could get you kicked out and if you refuse to leave then yes authorities will be called.

    This is not a freedom of speech issue.

    This is a freedom of association issue.

    We have a dangerous tendency to frame freedom of association as being pitted against freedom of speech. The two are completely parallel rights that have nothing to do with one another.
