Hello, I was reading about this on this internet and what I got from this is what the news and people dictate and manipulate what we see, how we see it and how we're supposed to feel about it. If we don't see it or feel the same way as them then we're not reacting right. Warning of contents: Orlando shootings, Charleston shootings, the gorilla being killed after a boy went into the enclosure, alligator drowning boy at Disney, Christina Grimmie's death, rape, murder, 9/11. - with a large focus on race and gender. https://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/social-lights/201607/you-arent-hating-enough Wondering your thoughts on it?
That thread title, though. "Yo, dawg. I heard you like news, so I put news inside your news so you can educate yourself while you educate yourself!"
I only read the few paragraph, but it doesn't surprise me. Imho though, that's just the way the news works - focus on the things that will get the most attention. Like remember when everybody was making a huge deal over the earthquake in Haiti a few years ago? People donated a bunch of money and Haiti wasnt heard from again....And nobody seemed to wonder how Haiti has been recovering. Call me out if you want, but I definitely think that certain races/ethnicities/countries are the news teams' favourite to pick on to emphasize.
I totally agree with this. The news in general likes to try and dictate what you should care about and why. Something I think this article doesn't take into account has to do with 9/11. It talks about how much of a cultural impact that made on us and how wen interpret rage but what about those of us who weren't born early enough to remember what happened then? It could just be due to my limited understanding and experience with life but its really hard to get anything from a decent chunk of it.
Hmm. Interesting article. Thanks for sharing. Thoughs, eh... Well, I do think she makes a good point that anger isn't a bad thing, but that aimless anger can be corrosive and toxic in various ways. Hmm... She kind of milked the subject. I can't find much to say.
