Bugger... is all you can say to the games keeper. I found this story quite amusing....I can imagine how much work had gone into trying to get the males to mate with the female. It's like they stuck the middle finger up and said screw you. "who are you to say who we should mate with"....obviously I dont think the ducks really thought that but in my imagination they did (a bit like how JD zones out in scrubs)

Actually, Ben & Jerry's is an ice cream brand around here  But all kidding aside, this is adorable and sad, how the species depends on these ducks who happened to fall for each other.

Why don't they do artificial insemination or just import some from NZ?

And that's so cute-"Ben and Jerry" aww

    That's adorable

And it's NOT sad because if you read the article carefully, the ducks are just going extinct in the UK. NOT in the entire world.

at least the girl duck doesn't seem bothered by it, haha

it's nice to have two animals of the same gender appear fond of each other once in a while :icon_bigg

Awwwww thats adorable, even though i thought they would do artificial encimination and just "milk" one of the male put the outcome into the female bird, like what they do with horses and cows and all the rest of the animals

I love scrubs... I can't wait till tuesday, I haven't watched any in so long.

Back to the OT though, that is such a cute story! (yet another piece to evidence the "nature" side of everything!!!) too bad there aren't many left in the UK, but I think it did say that the species was introduced there from NZ so it might not be such a bad thing, if they're not a native animal.
