'Corrective rape' in South Africa

That is truly horrific, as is any rape. I don't really know what to say... I'm speechless.

Apparently, the end justifies the means according to these morons.

The news is quite shocking, I'd always thought that South Africa was a fairly cool place in terms of gay acceptance.

 

Not only is this story shocking it is very sad to think that there are people who walk this earth and think that the way to 'cure' a lesbian is to rape them, as though women in general live only to be screwed by any passing male in order to be a real woman!!

It not only shows what these ignorant people think of lesbians but also of all womankind. There is one hell of a lot of education that need to be done!

 

It should be noted that this is not the only thing that gets cured by rape in sub-Saharan Africa. A rumour has been spread that having sex with a virgin will cure you of HIV/AIDS. Therefore, infected men tend to rape young girls... This is why education is the main health issue in the world.

 

Its awful isnt it. The worst thing about that is that the potential future president (Zuma) expressed very similar views about HIV cures. He has been accused of rape (not charged due to technicalities). He claimed to have sex with an HIV positive woman without a condom....but he had a shower immediately afterwards so thats why he's not positive.

Those black men in the video looked in their 40s/50s so they would have been oppressed under apartheid. I cannot understand how anyone who has experienced the horrors of that regime can have such bigot opinions. He fought for his freedom and now he wants to oppress another group in society. It's beyond me!!!!

 

This is beyond horrible.

This is just horrible and wrong, the darkest part of the moral spectrum. I am speechless I must say, the fact that people can be so ignorant about how the world works and the consequences for their actions.

I guess that's just how some people are. To them, getting out from under oppression just gives them the opportunity/power to do their own oppression.

 

when it comes to issues of sex and such, africa is a fairly backwards place. I am not talking just about the issue of homosexuality, but sex in general. in some places, if a man demands sex from a woman, and she refuses, they will simply kill her. woman have very little rights to protect and defend themselves from the advances of men in many places in africa. this also is one of the reasons why hiv/aids is so pronounced in africa, because they have no social values when it comes to sex in the long run.

The Pope might blame condoms for causing hiv/aids to spread in africa, but the truth is that sex is so common there, and woman have no rights against rape down there that people just dont seem to care. they screw around, without thinking about other people's rights, or about stds.

 

what did those stupid fucks accomplish by raping and killing her? nothing. theyll get theirs someday.

 

I just don't understand how people could have a complete lack of morality like that. I really wish I could DO something to stop this from happening...
