Frankly... I'm thinking about Belize. I hear they have a great expat community!

Our website is always broken though. But it's still funny.

Oh people were saying they were gonna leave when Obama got elected. This election cycle is the left's turn to say it now. Almost all will stay they're just having knee jerk reactions. Happens to all of us.

I can understand you're scared but know you're not alone. Right now, everyone is a little tense woth the election but know you have us.

Yes this is the same thing with Obama. Most won't actually move to Canada but we're going to be busy these next few weeks.

The next four years don't scare me nearly so much as the next 40+ with the Supreme Court Justices he will appoint.

4 years I can do, I can do the rest of my life but, I hate seeing more young people forced to grow up in a country where discrimination, homophobia, sexism, racism and, violence are okay because the leader of that country holds those types of views.

Oh I am not sure about that. I've been a frequent visitor to the cic website over the years (I'm a dual citizen). Yesterday evening was the first time I've seen the DNS addresses deactivated in order to stop the traffic.

If only the potential refugees knew how restrictive Canada actually is with immigration, they'd get started now (at least through normal channels).

I was listening to a guy boosting Cape Breton on CBC the other day. He was being grilled about his seriousness. No one believes anyone actually would move to Cape Breton, but the wonderful creative campaign aimed at US refugees was a hoot anyway. Same with Scare Canada's advertising effort.

I don't believe Trump will be nearly as bad as a lot of people think he'd be. (not saying he'd be a good president either, mind you)
Now what you should really be afraid of, is Trump getting assassinated and Mike Pence becoming his replacement, that would make all the horror stories of bigotry a reality.

I do agree. I think Trump may well be all talk (hopefully). But I know for sure pence is not.

Well, if I marry a Canadian, I would get Canadian residency and they could get American residency/citizenship (if the laws don't get reworked). Bonus for everyone .

On a serious note, I hope Canada gets Trump-like policies before Canada becomes the next France.
