Oh shit, it's on the 17th? I thought it was closer to the end of the month like it was last year...less time to get anxious, I guess.

I can't wait. I'm planning on bringing a little dry-erase board to write on to communicate like last year. If only my friends realized why it's so important to me this year....

    Last year was hella good!
We had over a hundred people participate at our school.
I had a little dry esrase board, and it really helped.

I stayed silent until late that night because I knew it would be more effective if I did since I had a church event.
    It was...intreresting.
    In a bad way. :/

    YES!

Thanks so much for reminding me, I keep missing it every year. D: I doubt I can get anyone else at my school to do it, but I'll try. :3

My school's QSA is having Day of Silence on the 16th, and we got over two-hundred people signed up to wear the free T-shirt and keep quiet all day! There was also a free lunch involved... I can't wait to not talk to people!

This is my 3rd or 4th year doing it...

Also, I don't know about you guys but I kinda thing using a notebook/draw erase board is defeating the non-communication thing...
Because, the way I see it is.. You're supposed to WANT to talk to someone but not be able to. Just like all of us have felt at least once or twice.
    But, whatever floats your boat.
I'll avoid all communication past physical contact. Hugs ftw.

Wow, that must suck for some of you. We had spring break two weeks ago, right in between winter and summer. Having it close to the end of the year kind of defeats the purpose for me, but whatever...

I carry a notebook and pencil just in case I must answer a teacher, or someone asks me a serious question about the purpose of the day. Anything trivial or stupid or insulting, I don't answer, and I don't start conversations of my own.

  14. I'd like to do it, but I'd be missing too much in the classroom, and I haven't heard anything derogatory in my school past the occasional usage of "gay" to mean "stupid."

I'd probably do it I was still going to my old school, though.

I "organized" it for my school last year... The night before I realized it was the next day, sent frantic emails to my friends saying "LET'S DO THIS!!!" by 9 am the next day I had 30 people either doing it or who really wanted to be had more than one oral presentation or something, so many additional people supported it, it was amazing. This year I am organizing it again, this time with slightly more time, lol, we're still rushed though, and were never planning on doing anything more than letting people know and getting everyone who is participating together before school starts, handing out speaker cards and stuff. I am SO excited!!!
