As overjoyed as we may be about recent events in Iowa and Vermont (and overjoyed we should be! wooooo!!!), let's not forget that there's so far to go before LGBT people everywhere receive the rights they deserve. There's a sobering article in the NY Times about the plight of gay men in Iraq, and it's heartbreaking. http://www.nytimes.com/2009/04/08/world/middleeast/08gay.html?_r=1&ref=global-home Let's celebrate our victories, but remember that this isn't an American or Western issue -- it's about universal human rights. Period.
"In general, it is the families that are killing the gay son..." I'm sick of this world. There's too much evil, too much hate. It's so wrong... but it's nothing new. This is how things are.
