    That is so nice. Thanks Obama. He even promoted LGBT rights when he visited my homophobic country. :slight_smile:

    I think more then anything, the progress of LGBT rights in the United States is thanks to many within the community speaking out and opening the minds of many including President Obama, who was against gay marriage till 2012.
    In the US particularly, support for the LGBT community has made enormous progress in less than a decade.
    It was a lot more politically safe to be supportive of marriage equality in 2012 then it was in 2008.

    Depends on the island, but in Jamaica where I live it is still illegal.

    I'm going to miss him for sure, in the past few years we've seen a lot of changes. Many for the good, some volatile acts of retaliation from immature governors mixed in, but I'm hoping things overall stay on track.

    On a side note comments are disabled on the video, I can understand why. People still have quite a long way to go but I sincerely hope the final result is the majority embracing knowledge and acceptance at last.
