I am curious what everyone is currently lobbying for and what piece of legislation would make you the happiest in terms of the gay civil rights movement.

I support the expansion of marriage equality in the surrounding states to my home state of Connecticut: New York, New Jersey and Rhode Island.

I agree with you. I would really be very happy if my home state of New Jersey would give the okay to gay marriage. First Jersey, then THE WORLD! ...lol ; )

Those are all important, but I would love me some marriage equality.

Sadly, I live in Texas. The national government had to force this state to integrate its schools. So I'm thinking I can't count on us to be progressive and forward-thinking. Fie!

I would like to see gay marriage approved across the US and the world! I feel fortunate that if I find the Mr. Right I can marry in my state. I would like to see everyone be able to do this.

Walking by one of the parking lots on campus I saw someone with a bumper sticker that said "I <3 MY STRAIGHT" with a picture of Texas, shortly after that stupid amendment passed. :/ I really wanted to key that truck (I didn't!) but I'm better than that. I think. >.<

I agree with Ed. I love that our state(Mass.) has made gay marriage legal.
I picked other because I want to see equality federally, not just state by state.
Come on,America! For a free country,we are so slow to REALLY make it that way,for ALL!

I would fight descrimination and bullying in schools, especially among teachers. Violence and verbal harrassment is NEVER okay.

Any one of these would have me floored. But I ended up putting decriminalization. It's beyond me how people can still be facing imprisonment and even death for being LGBT. Though marriage equality would be nice too.

No "All" option? Seriously? I can't focus on just one cause.

Decriminalization here. Marriage isn't a big deal for me.
The idea that it could be illegal is just ludicrous.

decriminalization would be GREAT! That would send a world wide message and most likely get the ball rolling on any DADT or marriage issues else were.

But for me in Canada i have marriage equality  It sure does not help fight homophobia, but it makes me feel good knowing im not *quite* as second class citizen as i would be in the states?

    What about everything?
    Like, all and more.

What I am fighting for on the largest scale is the same rights for EVERYONE.
Male, female, genderqueer, gay, straight, Asian, Caucasian...whatever.
We are all humans and should be treated as such.

I agree with Amy! but I think we need to start someplace and for me I feel we need to start with states because if a majority of the states legalize marriage then that will send the message to the federal government saying we need to get a federal law for marriage. once this is sucessful we can move on to the bigger goals. because the USA cant really tell the rest of the world to decriminalize or to change their policies without being fair and equal to all its LGBT people first..

I voted for 'marriage equality' because that is something I am probably going to be directly involved with fighting for in the next couple years here in Iowa.

But, I think the most important issue by far is global decriminalization.

    Marriage equality first and foremost.
