    Im still shaking.

Im one of those people that really gets into things. I can just connect like THAT. So needless to say, i am very attached to the characters in this show. I feel like i know them all personally, no make that i DO know them all personally. This show was so focused on the lives of these 10 or so people that you know them all intimately by the end of the show. Looking back on the previous events in the show feels like im looking back years into my own past, its weird.

ANYWAYS! Well, i loved the show so much and i would recommend it to most people, as long as you a) dont mind watching some soft-core male on male and the odd female on female basically porn (lets not kid, it is basically soft-core porn in many parts haha) and b) you like shows that are about people and their lives (this is like a soap opera abiut a whole bunch of gay people).

As for all the sex in the show, i think it was important to have and did add alot. If they didnt "sex up" the show, it would come off as another "will and grace" minus the funny plus the drama. The problem with that? Will and Grace was made for heterosexual people to watch and go "aww look a the cute gay guys". Because it is so non-sexual i think people get the wrong picture about gay people. Its almost like they are the harmless cute little men who do your hair and pick out your clothes. They dont want to accept that gay people are sexual people, and really thats the only thing that MAKES gay people say IS the sex. Queer as Folk shows gay people in EVERY aspect of life - buying the groceries to fucking up against the fridge. This made the show what it is in my opinion.

I actually learned alot from the show personally, and its help me grow and accept things about myself i might not have without watching it. The character of Emmett is such an inspiration to myself. He is the most girly of the bunch, yet he is also the strongest of the bunch. He may not be a manly man, but he has the courage and pride of an army. i aspire to be like him in many ways, he is truly amazing. Other things that really got me were some of the quotes. "I think God appreciates you even more. Because he created you in his image. At least that's what I was always taught. And since God is love and God doesn't make mistakes, then you must be exactly the way he wants you to be. And that goes for every person, every planet, every mountain, every grain of sand, every song, every tear... and every faggot. We're all his. He loves us all." and "Why tell anyone? Why lose everything when it can just be your little secret? You see, it was different for me. Everyone could tell who I was from the start and it didn't make my life any easier. I've been beaten up, cursed at, spit on, ignored... but in a way it was worth it. Because I have never had to live a lie and I'm not about to start now. Not for you, not for anyone." These both impacted me. Alot of the story lines in the show also were great. The entire story of Justin coming out to his Mother and having a bad reaction turn into something good was inspiring for my own life and gives me some hope my mother can maybe do the same. The gay bashing, the bombing, the other hate crimes, and all the anti-gay stories really turned into some of the most powerful moments in the whole show. What the characters went through and had to over come was alot, but every time they had to deal with something they came out stronger.

I basically just wanted to Vent, because that was ALOT of my time i put into watching this show and it really does almost become a part of you. Its going to be hard not having any new episodes to watch :frowning2: Ill never know what happened with Prop 14...

Seeing as Babylon was rebuilt and they were all dancing happily in the club as the final shot, it can be assumed that Prop. 14 didn't pass.

Overall the series was pretty awesome, in my oppinion.

Except for certain things... like Justin, in general.
He just bugged me because his like was so fucking charmed. Despite everything that happened to him (gay bashing, parents divorce, pink posse, etc.) he still get's every little damn thing he wants. He moves to New York after that raving art review most likely to become an accomplished artist. Not only did he get Brian to say 'I love you' but he also got Brian to propose. He got his damn country manor with a swimming pool and stables (albeit only for a short time).
Michael doesn't even get custody of his own child... not to mention she's taken to a different country entirely. He doesn't even get his Hollywood movie deal. It's crap.

Everything came up roses for fucking Sunshine.

And on a seperate note, I'm pretty sure they referenced 'Whatever Happened To Baby Jane' at least 50,000,000 times in season 5.

I thought the last ep was kind of disappointing. It should have just ended an ep or two after the bomb imo.

I was super annoyed by the michael-lindsay-mel baby triangle, but least it ended the way I wanted it to. No custody for Michael and Mel and Linds back together

Brian and Justin were just so awesome together though. He should have just moved to NY with Justin and done the same thing they've been doing for the past 5 seasons.

I could drag on about this forever so Imma just stop.

edit: oh, and DEBBIE, GEEZ. God she was annoying. I feel like she was thrown in purely to preach to any straight people watching the show (who wouldn't need to be preached to anyway).

Ted said that, by the way. Not Emmett.
When Emmett found the light and he had turned Michael and Ted away for the last time before the meeting.
Ted said he was going to miss Emmett's dancing and Emmett made the comment that only Ted could truly appriciate it and Ted responded with the aforementioned quote.

Eh, I've only watched the English version. Twas ok I guess, in places the acting was a bit rubbish and things were a bit extreme...

I totally agree with Greggers that QAF helps people grow and learn about themselves. I have seen and own both British and American versions of QAF.

I really liked the American version as it confronted the issues facing the LGBT community at the time it was made, even though it was a remake from the British version. I liked the British version at the beginning, but I got disappointed towards the end as they rushed unfinished plots and story line into 3-4 episodes, since it got cancelled.

So would you say the American one is better? Any idea where I can watch it? Because I wouldn't be able to buy it >.<
