    Saw this and thought that it was interesting. He comments about the enviroment that he is currently working in, even calling it hostile. It's interesting to see more people open up about what really is going on there.

    It's interesting... definitely some change going on at Fox. I had read that someone (don't remember whom) was at one point in discussions to purchase Fox, but I think it fell through.

    In spite of what seems to be going on in Trump's America, it seems that Fox has figured out they can't behave the way the President does, not unless they want to get sued into oblivion.

    I hope that's a sign of reasoning and development to come forward in the future, but I sure wouldn't get my hopes up.

    People like him could turn it into an actual news network, but I don't see such a mentally feeble crowd being swayed by any sort of reason. Kind of reminds me of one of those middle school "group projects" where one person does all the work, and yet many wish to fire the carrier. Huh.

    Good for him! I don't think I've ever watched him, at least not much, but maybe I will sometime. Maybe because he's gay he sees issues with more empathy. If he wasn't gay he might have become a super far-right zealot. I know I became much more sympathetic of other minorities and marginalized people after realizing I'm gay and learning about all the atrocities committed against us. If he ends up too reasonable for fox, sounds like he'd fit in at CNN or MSNBC.

    Funny you say that about becoming more sympathetic of other minorities after coming out to yourself, mnguy. That's exactly what I found in my experience as well. I'd often suspected it was true of other gays but never heard anyone explicitly say it. And as for Shep Smith, he's apparently the only person at Fox who actually points out that Trump is the idiot menace he is ... so maybe you are on to something and he does have empathy caused by being gay! Let's hope he can put it to good use! :grin:

    I just think it's funny how every time over the years that he has mentioned that he is gay it's covered as him coming out. After three or four times I don't quite understand...
