What is it with humanity and senseless violence? Have they learned nothing from the past?

I would advise any in the vicinity to leave for now, take a trip while things cool off. Not to trust anyone, either. I suppose that includes myself as well. Just stay safe...

 

So terrible. There's a video circulating of the moment the bomb went off - nothing graphic, just a cell phone video, but you can hear it. Its so terrible - all those kids. I heard that a Holiday Inn in Manchester is offering rooms for displaced kids, and that the locals there are offering bed/food as well. Articles say the trains were stopped, so lots of kids were stranded. Its heartwarming to read about how helpful the locals are being though.

 

It's terrible to hear that something like that would happen. I would have expected some type of checks to be done beforehand and security at least. But then again it seems very unlikely to happen at a music venue of all places.

 

I think standard security procedures were followed before the concert. Early reports suggest a suicide bomber entered the arena after the concert and detonated the device while people were filing out towards the exits.

 

Oh okay, I guess it would have been harder to control in that case. Other security measures will have to be put in place for the future. It's just really sad for all those people who were killed or injured.

 

It's now increased to 22 dead and 59 injured.

It's just so awful.

I don't mean to sound suicidal or petty - but honestly, who wants to live in a word where people think it's fine to just explode people for the fun of it, or to get a point across about their religion? I've got enough of my own problems, let alone having to worry every minute about possibly me or one of the people dearest to me dying in an attempt to prove a point.

 

I am so sick of it. We all are against terrorism, yes even the worst SJW. But no, you can't agree openly, you can't work together as one because the other political side is sooo evil.

We could have prevented that deaths.

I saw so many posts claiming that everyone was being racist for saying a muslim extremist probably did it when it fit the MO for past incidents...but here's the proof. Well as proof as we'll get without having direct access to whatever platform they announce this shit on. Or an understanding of how to read/write Arabic.

Important bits: 1 arrest has been made according to the video and supposedly its the bomber. The article also touches on security at the venue. Apparently the arena is attached to the train station so absolute security is impossible, and there were in fact bag checks before the show. Important clarification note - i have heard many times that it was a nail bomb that went off, not a suicide vest. But the media is calling it a suicide bomber meaning the bomber's either barely alive in a hospital or should be dead. Its confusing. They're two totally different things. This article supports the nail bomb reports i read. I feel bad for the mother of Olivia - i saw her post being retweeted all over twitter, she can't get in contact with her daughter. :icon_sad:

Literally tearing up now. Look. They're identifying the victims. I saw some of these kids photos being reblogged all day yesterday cause their parents were looking for them. Families are in these articles still looking for their kids, the same couple of kids from last night - a daughter and a couple. I hope they get their kids back and that they're not dead.

Chill. You can never fix what these fanatical extremists have broken.

This was (from all indications) a suicide bombing. As much as it hurts/sucks. the person that actually created the bomb is still out there. Presumably HE - the bomb maker - (because Women are so much lesser than Men in the Muslim world), is still out there -thus the person that we need to find.

This assine attack was focused on kids. It could have been much worse. But even one innocent life is too many, right?

 

Because for every horrible person there are a 1000 awesome great loving people.. Take care of yourself
