It's a common question. We see homophobia and people fighting against gay marriage. But, we think, what can *I* do about it?

There was a rally here in Denver this afternoon. A few hundred people came out to a gay marriage rally, featuring speakers from the local gay rights groups and local government offices. In addition, although the mayor couldn't be present, someone read a statement from him declaring today to be "Marriage Equality Day" for the city of Denver.

Here's the person who conceived the rally, and helped organize it.

I wholeheartedly believe that anyone can achieve anything they want. The only thing holding us back is ourselves.

Here is a small child that took action on something on something he thinks is important while people 4 times his age just sit around bitching about it. No better evidence in my opinion.

It's amazing that a nine year old helped to move the fight for equality forward.

He has lesbian neighbors. He asked them if they were married, and they said no, because it was against the law for gay and lesbians to get married. He said that wasn't fair, and that was the start of that.

Holy crap that is just awesome.

Sometimes I am just amazed at how children see the world.

I think there is a *tremendous* amount of energy, knowledge, and even wisdom among the up-and-coming generation, people Ethan's age and a few years older. I have been amazed at the depth of understanding among a lot of younger people, and seeing stories like this just reinforce my faith that there is a strong degree of hope and possibilities in those who are growing up and coming of age in these times.

I agree, Ethan deserves a huge hug from everyone

That's incredible. This just shows how obvious it is that gay marriage should be legal. A 9-year-old understands it.
    Awesome ^^

Someone said something about children seeing the world differently, they do, they see the world in Black and White, no prejudice, no complications, just simple right and wrong. And they are the ones who should listen to adults and stay quiet because they don't know what they are talking about. Clearly.
It just goes to show that you are never too small to make a difference, no matter what people tell you.

Thats cute and makes me think there is hope for the future of this country.

One step at a time, multiply that by the people taking those steps and you have progress.

That video is better than mine. I had to hold my camera over my head, and it wasn't very stable.
