This whole debate in New Hampshire is just living proof how you just cannot please opponents. In reality they're just bigots, but they cover it up using various excuses which they think justifies their hate. For example, they are concerned that religious freedom may be jeaporadised, so the Governor works to fix that problem and opponents reject it, and the religious exclusions have been expanded so that they can actually discriminate, and it's still going to be a battle to pass it. Their original arguments for opposing it have been fixed and made crystal clear and they're *still* not happy.

I'd rather they just came out and said they disagree with it rather than using religion as a smokescreen to justify their intolerance.

It has passed in the senate and has now bee sent to the House of Representatives. I'm listening to a live audio feed of it and they're talking about railroads at the moment. *yawns*

Gov. Lynch said he'd sign it, congrats people, New Hampshire now becomes the 6th state to allow marriage equality and the 3rd to do so through the legislature.

w00t w00t! At this rate we've almost got one state per month. Where should we aim for next? I say NY and RI, then a surprise state like VA would be nice. Why not work our way South and get the entire East coast? Ok, maybe I'm dreaming a bit big, but it's bound to happen some day.

Anyway, YAY FOR NEW HAMPSHIRE! :eusa_danc:eusa_danc

Virginia is unlikely to happen this year.

Rhode Island- Governor would veto, but legislature might have votes to override, over 60 percent of RI state believes in marriage equality.

New York- It's a fight in the Senate. Session ends June 22nd.

    New Jersey-This a battle

District of Columbia-will allow out of state marriages, talk to allow in district marriages under way and should pass by the end of the year.

Note: I think we have the best chances in these states/ city this year.
