India has legalized "gay sex". There are many countries that have laws on the books that prohibit this and before the court ruling being gay could easily mean life in jail.

Okay, so this is really lame, but I'm listening to this soft song, and right as I clicked the thread link and then clicked the news link, the song got EPIC and BEAUTIFUL.

I think it's a sign that this is momentously amazing. <3

It's an omen! Even sound itself is pro-gay!

We've got another one of the five senses everybody! We've already got sight (after all, we've cornered the markets on makeup, interior design, and art, I'd say xD) now we've got hearing! Ooh, since we're magically delicious, that means we've got 3/5!

    MAJORITY RULE!

  8. I can honestly say I didn't expect this to happen. I was pleasantly surprised.

Unfortunately, gay sex is only decriminalized in the Delhi area (National Capital Territory) by the Delhi High Court, which cited the constitution's guarantee of equal rights. This could be a good thing and a bad thing. Usually when a state's High Court makes a ruling, it sets a strong precedent and all the other high courts are pressured into agreeing. On the other hand, since it was a ruling by a court, and not an act of legislature, it can be appealed to the supreme court. Since India is so diverse, the government has to listen to all kinds of groups and right now conservative Hindus, Muslims, Christians, and Sikhs are very angry at this move and are trying to fight back.

This is true and the US should lobby the UN to change such discriminatory laws that call for any jail time or death for doing such things.

This is especially a big deal since India has the second biggest population in the world and it's growing fast. They'll probably pass China soon. So this is huge

I love how they make sexuality a law nowadays. Im sure women were against the law too back in the day in India?

Definitley a step in the right direction especially in a country which does hold conservative views.
