Yahoo Article CNN Article I'll reiterate preliminary. The articles say it was roughly a 30% success rate to prevent the infection--which is far below the minimum of 50% to even go into clinical trials for widespread availability. (I could be wrong on that exact percent required, but it was something like that.) It's also still well below what most vaccines achieve. HOWEVER...it's a step in the right direction. It means a vaccine is likely possible and that we're finally on track to finding it.
We're talking like...virtually 0% to 30%. That's pretty significant; I think we should still celebrate, even if it is a little early.
And then there's my university that is researching an HIV vaccine and have currently gone into human trials
That is awesome!!!, i watched it on the news...but now for the kicker, my local news station decided to cover the story standing in the gay part of town with rainbow flags as their backdrop as they told the story....oh how i love the media, they help sooo much *sarcasm*
