This is what happens when you fuck around with legal contracts in order to make them fit your wording. If you aren't careful, you nullify everyone's contracts.

You know... the more that I think about this... the more that I realize just how HUGE this mistake is. The state could actually get a class action lawsuit from the entire married citizenry of Texas due to the sudden limbo that this legislation placed their own legal contracts into. By meddling in these personal matters as this legislation does, it managed to infringe on everyone's contracts and literally corrupted the sanctity of marriage in Texas. So much for protecting the sanctity, eh?

Just today in class we were talking about how absurd our constitution is. We haven't been able to get it changed since 1873. It's a hot mess. And our legislature only meets every 2 years to deal with such a mess. oh well

Are the Texans really scared that the gays will go in and do better jobs of redecorating their ranch houses, farms, mansions and paint rainbows on their cattle and other property?

Seriously, people need to be educated.

I guess it would suck to be married in Texas..

Am I the only one who is not at all surprised that this happened in Texas?

This is Texas we are talking about; that could be difficult.

Im glad i dont live in Texas. It must be hard having people judge and stereotype you based on where you live so harshly like that, i see it happen all the time with Texas. And i know quite a few people from Texas and love them dearly. (and no, none of them are fat, conservative or own a gun...)

and im sure as funny as this is (oh, and its very funny) that it wont actually do anything. I dont see anything much coming of this.

Yeah it is. I just didn't label my topic correctly cuz I wanted more to say that it was hilarious not just about Texas banning marriage..

I agree with you... I don't think they were taught never to mix their personal life, opinions, and feelings, with their business life.

I don't know how the Attorney General can say all is fine and just leave it. It means all marriages since 2005 are not actually marriages and all are void. Means any of those people married since then are not entitled to any rights they get for being married as apposed to just being a couple. Could cause massive legal battles over inheritance and things like that.

Wow, I was born in Texas and have lived here all of my life. Thanks alot for stereotyping the entire state. That's real classy, especially coming from a fellow minority who should know how annoying stereotypes can be.

By the way - I don't own cattle, oil, a ranch, or a truck. Just so you know.

    THANK YOU!
I was getting a bit annoyed at all this. Just because we live in Texas doesn't make us horse riding-gun owning-gay bashing-Republican-Morons. I mean, come on people, your claiming Texans aren't educated now? Give me a break.
